Parts to paint. Cleaning up engine bay

Well springtime is just around the corner, and I can't wait to get the Vibe out again. There are some things I really wanted to get done over the winter but I have been really busy. I really dislike the look of the engine compartment and it needs some attention. I have a lot of big plans for it, but most of that will be next winter. I do want to get a few misc pieces painted before the spring. They will all be paint-matched to the body which is Abyss. I've taken off the engine cover and ordered some VVTL-I decals from Grafxwerks (by the way who's Vibe is on their hompage? Looks Good!). I'm also painting the wire cover that runs alongside the engine cover, the fuse panel cover, the throttle cable cover (by the firewall), and the cooling fan shroud. I really want to pull the intake manifold, throttle body, and valve cover, and polish those but I'm not sure I'll have time before spring. Anyone know what kind of gaskets are used in the manifold? Are they re-useable, or a paper type? Same for the Valve cover. I would assume it has an o-ring seal? There's still a few more pieces I will definitely pull and paint this season and I'll probably have to order more paint. I'll get it done and ready for spring though! A shot of the HID's for fun!

i painted my fuse cover, engine cover, and battery brace black -- looks good did you tint your turn signal reflector when you painted the headlights?

Yes I tinted the turn signal reflectors. They were way too bright and really stuck out after I color matched the rest of the headlight. I just used a cheaper black spray paint that was thinned down a lot so it was transparent. Most of the metal parts will probably get powdercoated. I have been thinking about moving the battery because its ugly and I need to make a bigger airbox when I mod my hood for more flow. I have an idea of where its gonna go, but not positive yet. Yes I have the KV5's. I really like the look of them and how simple they are. People have told me to paint them, and I have considered it but not sure its gonna happen. Polishing them and having them anodized black might look cool. Maybe someone could photochop this pic to color match my wheels to the body. Thanks for the compliments guys!

If you're considering polishing the valve cover and intake manifold you might want to get the Injen engine covers.Let me know how the polishing goes, I might look into it if it isn't too much hassle.

The engine cover will be painted abyss. More than likely the intake tube will be painted abyss as well. I don't like loud colors all over the engine compartment. My Vibe kinda has that dark theme going with it. Most everything will be black.
