I was doing a search for parts (fat chance, I know...already tried salvage yards and they told me the car is "too new" so I figure I'd try CL and see this Neptune and it has the plastic shade thing (leaning in the cargo...against some kind of cargo net???)http://honolulu.craigslist.org....html

the cargo net is not on right it's soposed to be connected on the bottom so it keeps your grocerys in check and not rolling all over the place. Not to mention that car is a bit overpriced

HAHAHAHAHA...really? I guess the extra in the price is for the expert installation We never got any nets that would be nice to keep my recyclable bins from sliding around.

I think I asked my dealer to throw them in, othewise it was a seperate option. There are 2 nets, the long one that's incorrectly installed in that post, and a smaller one that hangs on the right. In the photo below is the correct method of installation

I ordered my set from Deland Toyota in Deland, Florida (Link --> http://www.delandtoyota.com/Ebay-Parts.aspx) shortly after I bought my Vibe in 2004. I think I paid about $30 plus around $5 for shipping and the Pontiac dealer retail was $55.00 at the time. BTW I have my 'shorty' net installed on the left side of the cargo area.I just did a search on eBay for 'Matrix cargo net' and found that Deland still sells them for about $30, but shipping is now up to $10.99.The only difference between the Pontiac and the Toyota cargo nets is that the Toyota nets have 'Toyota' printed on the plastic pulls to help open the net.

I asked for all 3 from the dealer too --- ended up selling the cargo cover to someone here for $10. I only use the small side net now

As far as installation, the steel loops are positioned so you can attach it any of four ways. Some ways don't make as much sense, obviously, but I think it's nice to be so versatile. I currently have mine positioned as in the original photo, albeit under the cargo cover, so it stays out of the way as well as gives the cover more support so I can put things (hanging clothes usually) on top of it. The side net is great for securely holding breakable items (wine bottles, etc).

Cool! Thanks, everybody! (though I think eBay would be even more expensive than the dealer with the we-rip-you-off eBay seller fees to non-continental US) but I will check with the dealer the next time I go.

Might not hurt to call a Toyota dealer. I find that when I'm looking for parts, they're generally cheaper at a Toyota dealer than a GM
