Has anyone else added ventshades to their Vibes? I did so last sunday and love them.

either he is talking about the molded window deflectors that go on the outside of the car or he his talking about the "vent shades" they sell on ebay which is just a custon fitted windshield shade. or...i could be way off.

Are these solely for looks or is there a practical purpose to them? Not that I wouldn't be in if they didn't have a practical purpose, of course....

The main reason I got a set of ventshades for my previous car was because I wanted to drive with the window down a little without getting wet when it rains.Living in the Vancouver area means that there are alot of rainy days.

Ventshades. You know, those tinted plastic piece that go around the windows so you can crack your windows in the summer and/or keep the rain out. Got tired of not being able to crack my window when it rained, etc. They look good, too. Bad thing with newer cars. They dont have rain gutters. This is where ventshades come in. They actually make the car look better....less seen window area so it gives it the chopped look.....kinda....sorta.

The Weathertech ones are very highly rated - I've seen them and I'd certainly say they were better than anything I've seen that's stuck on with 3M tape.... too bad they're so damn expensive.Thinking about getting a set for mine though ;->Greg

So, in other words, they're held in by friction and tension? Nothing else? And how does the window seal correctly with those stuffed in there? Wouldnt it be hard plastic against glass?

Well I'm not 100% sure as I've never seen them up close or taken them apart.... but here's a quick page that tries to get the point across: http://www.autotruckdepot.com/weather.htm I do agree with you though that it does kinda look like some form of fixing should be needed..... don't know what it is though.... anyone actually have these and can shed some light on the install?Greg

I've had the WeatherTech's on my last 3 vehicles('97 Malibu, '98 Sonoma, & '02 Sedona) and they really are well made. They are a little tricky to install(you have to bend them slightly), but once installed, they stay in place and IMO they are the best looking deflectors I've seen. And though I've never done this, they are easily removed and installed on another like vehicle. They are not real dark tint, so you can see through them very well. I just bought my Vibe and have ordered a set for it, but I have to wait until the middle of May for them to be available.

I had the VentVisor brand vent shades on my previous cars and liked them a lot. (these are the ones applied with 3M double sided tape). The only drawback of the VentVisor brand is that they are opaque so they create a blind zone at the top of your windows. it doesn't matter most of the times but once in a while, i had to duck if i had to look up through my window.I got the WeatherFlectors from Weathertech for my vibe. Based on my online search, they seem to perform as well or better, with no tape to apply and they are transparent, even in the smoke color (i read that they are coming out with an opaque black version as well).sylvain

When those darker ones come out, I'll get them.

I have the weathertechs on my GA and love them. Just wish I would have got them for the Vibe instead of the ventshades.

I prefer the Weathertech ventshades. They come in two shades (light & dark) and fit inside the window channel. Will be ordering for our Vibe soon.

I have a set of the weathertech ventshades, I myself drive with the window cracked and when it rains I get all wet so the 100 bucks I spent was well worth it to me. I did cut the crap out of my finger putting them on though, watch yourselves, they fronts are sharp.

I love my ventshades both for functional and visual reasons.
