I was reading some of the reviews on MSN, I noticed a very good portion and I myself agree 100% the red dash is Horrible now with the super bright sunlight, I think toyota/GM should put a white dash interior with Blue or red LEDS at least it would be very readable in all conditions, heck I would even change my original one with white and blue........like the celicas if it was available and it was an exact replacement part that would fit current and newer Vibe models!!

I love the dash just the way it is. I've never had a problem seeing the guages, no matter what the sunlight was like. What I want is a telescoping steering column. And a hatch opener/closer button on the keyfob like many minivans are now coming with.KSNeptune

I haven't had any problems seeing the guages either even in bright sunlight and dark sunglasses on. Don't get me wrong, they are not as easy to see, but I can still tell what they are reading.

what's a hatch opener/closer? Are you referring to the motorized thing that vans and such are now coming with?Just wondering cuz I love the little glass window opener on my fob... just walk up, pop the window open and dump all your junk in!

I agree that the red lights are a mistake. Would also like a hard cargo area cover like the PT Crusier. An option so that you could set the door locks to automatically engage at 15mph like the PT; and a horn beep to confirm that the car was locked. Also, a time out on the interior lights including the map light(s) on the visor so they wound automatically turn off like the PT. Carpet on the back of the rear folding seats.

The interior lights are on a timeout circuit. But I'm not sure if that include the map light(s). How do I know? I was working in the cargo are with the hatch open for awhile, and eventually the lights dimmed out. I sort of remember reading about that feature in the owner's manual. The purpose is to keep the lights from draining the battery if you accidently leave a door or the hatch open.I have the "beep when locked" on my wife's altima, and have finally gotten so tired of it that I disabled it. I much prefer the quieter approach taken with the Vibe.If you want your doors locked, it takes one downward push of the button on the driver's door, at least if you have the power option like I do. I prefer this to the "does it for you at 15mph". My boss often gives me a ride in his PT from his nearby reserved parking stall to my remotely parked Vibe, and always HAVING to unlock your own door before you can get out is a real pain.Just my POV.KSNeptune

My wifes minivan does that. However, pulling the door handle with the doors locked will unlock the doors and open them in one motion solving the problem.

Personally, I love the red guages but hate the rattles from the design. I do notice that the red guages on my Mazda6 are better in all lighting, but they went with a more conventional guage layout. The locks and lights are something that GM should have had more input into. Almost all GM products have locks activated by the shifter going into drive as well as battery run down protection and maintained power. If they could take some of those elements and put it into the Vibe, it would really be a nicer car.
