Do we really need 4 threads on the same subject? Come on people!!

All 4 of these threads are about the Matrix being on the 10 Most ticketed list posted within 10 days of each other:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... d=36522How about we try searching too see if it was already posted before posting your new thread about the same thing? I know ned23 saw that it was already posed after he posted his and made reference to that. But shouldn't these threads be merged or some deleted? This has been happening more and more lately. GenVibe is getting pretty messy and needs some house cleaning.

Another ones were the Vibe GT Police Car threads. I think there were 3 of them....lol.What would be really funny is if the Vibe GT Police Cruiser Pulled over a Matrix and wrote them a ticket! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

hahahahaha that would be classic!!but yea, Folks on the top of the forums there is in bold letters SEARCH button, use it. and if you find out there is another thread or topic like yours, ask a moderator to delete it or lock it and use the other thread to continue on the particular subject.this is a pretty serious thing, flooding the forums with repetitive topics is not good.

It's still nowhere near the way things run on a board I visit for my current car. The same kids there post 15 threads about the same topic.. like "im gonna buy this sick fart can" then another that says "ups dropped off my fart can" and another thread for "i took it outta teh box" and another thread for "look, it's being installed" and another thread for "pics of my sick fart can" and another thread for "videos of my fart can" and another thread for "dyno proves fart can added 500 hp" and another additional thread bragging about all the cars they beat thanks to the fart can. And it never gets cleaned up. That truly makes a board a train wreck, quite often "unvisitable." To that I say, GenVibe is still fricken awesome. It could be much, much worse. Even though a bunch of threads got posted on the same thing I don't think they were posted intentionally, they just didn't know it had already been mentioned.

That would annoy the hell out of me! I'd have to ban people for that crap! there would be warnings, infractions, probations and bans if I had to sift thru garbage like that on my other boards! We see some of it on our Subie forums, but to a very minimum because the mods there have little to no patience for newbs (especially in those circumstances or newbs who refuse to SEARCH). I find it better to lurk and do my searching first before I post up as a newbie on ANY forum. That way I don't look like a complete idiot. LOL

It sometimes takes 5 minutes of playing with the settings, and yes, I have read and understand how it works, I have a minor in computer programming. If the search worked properly this would be less of an issue! ...WOW, it is finally working properly for me. I don't have any clue why it has given me so much grief in the past! That is part of the problem. So many forums have such poor search programs that some folks don't even try to use them anymore. Very small print layout makes scanning some forums for similar threads difficult . Question if anyone remembers: were all 4 of those posts in the same section on the same page?...just curious.btw...I just fixed that font problem...very nice.

Doesn't matter which section it was posted. Why do people insist on posting such useless information!!!!The other problem is nOObs posting in the wrong forums. Also more useless information to add, this forum is broken down into many sections. If you're looking for information on a particular subject, please search the section that matches your criteria instead of automatically posting.

I've used CAI SRI or CAI intake for searches and usually get some long list. then I have to weed thru it all. genvibe is the first forum I ever joined or participated in. In fact, because of this site, I have become a posting (removed) on these forums as well as many others, I learned just about everything I know on the internet from either these boards or members from these boards. Other than email and basic internet browsing, I had no idea what to do or how to do anything on here until some of the gvc'er members (old timers back in the day) showed me the new world of "GOOGLE" and messenger....

If it were not, there would be no reason to have 4o+ sections on this one. Thing is, GenVibe is no different from any other forums I frequent. It's good to have enough activity that you can get multiple post. The reason I asked where the multiple posts were was because of so many sub-boards. I was just wondering were they all in the same place or scattered around. It may not matter to you were they were, but I was curious. Now, I think I'll go post something multiple times in the wrong section....it seems to liven up the place.

That is one thing about the database we use for research, it can be a pain to use at times. That is why I enjoy actively heading to the hospitals library.

if you don't use the correct key words you won't get anywhere and if you don't refresh your browser it won't show new topics at times. also, if one posts what you believe is some obscure topic you might not believe it has already been posted and won't do a search to see, again from above one must use the right key words. also, if there are 4 pages of threads with said key words, I'm not going to spend a lot of time going through each threaed to ensure I don't repost.I guess, the easiest thing for the occasional poster is to not post anything new and let the post whores do the posting of topics. yep I have them in a wad.
