http://www.worldcarfans.com/90...-york "Power comes coutesy of a 290hp 2.0-liter Theta II turbocharged engine with torque standing at 289 lb-ft at 2,000 rpm."its still concept but its like a civic knock off. But the power ratings..hmm we'll see if it can actually handle though :/

that "theta 2" is the new DI world engine. made by hyundia/kia, mitsu and chyrsler. so mitsu made it Supposedly used in the evo....which could mean there could be some massive mods for it.

Saw this at the NY show last year, it looks really good in person. The Theta is a great engine. The turboed Theta is also the base engine in the Hyundai Genesis coupe but oddly enough it only has 223 HP or something like that. I think this engine has a lot of potential. I don't think Mitsubishi had a lot of an input on the Theta - they may have been involved in some regards but it was primarily Hyundai's design. Even Chrysler took Hyundai's design and tweaked it for their "world engine." I wouldn't necessarily consider Mitsu being involved a good thing though, a lot of the mechanical problems Hyundais had over the years - especially the transmissions - were largely failures with Mitsubishi designs since they either licensed their crap or cloned it and built it themselves. I discovered after I bought mine even my '06 the tranny is still a copy of a Mitsubishi gearbox. *barf* Hasn't died yet though!
