Free Garmin GPS with Purchases

As part of my recent smokin' deal on a 2009 Vibe the ad also promised a free Navigation device. I figured it would be a $99 off brand. They said I could pick it up after my check cleared. The truth is they were just buying them down the street at Target as needed. Picked it up today - it is a Garmin Nuvi 205. They gave me a gift receipt with it - it cost $`199.99. I may just return it to Target for a gift card as I don''t think I would have much use for a GPS. If I change my mind in 6 months they probably will be better and cheaper. Or I might tarde it in on the 205W. Or a 200W which is $20 less than the 205.Garmin seems to have a reputation for ease of use - something that is a #1 objective for me. Any thoughts on what Garmin model might be better?

The 205 is a very nice model, and is part of a newer series than the 200 or 200W with some nice feature improvements. Personally I'd opt to move up to the 255 for a few more dollars. That one speaks the name of the actual street where you should turn rather than just giving the distance; i.e. "turn left in 200 feet on Elm Street" rather than just "turn left in 200 feet." It's a useful feature where possible turns are rather close together. In my uses of GPS models I haven't seen much advantage to the wider "W" models since the screen zooms in to any upcoming turn anyway.

I use the Garmin Nuvi 350. It's a two-year old model now. Trust me, you will have use for a GPS. Once you start using them, you'll want to keep doing so.
