Nice cars, but look into cost of ownership. They aren't cheap to fix. Turbo wagons are nice though! I'm sure Northvibe can tell ya all about that!

I do NOT think it was worth 26k (client payed more than that for the S model). It depends on what you want from the car...My turbo ms3 was under 22k and is much faster than a audi a3 turbo but if you want a quiet "rich" feel the audi is has a more refined experience , the ms3 was made for track use. If you found a deal on one that put it much cheaper than consider it but you never really hear of a audi 2.0l Turbo being "ultra fast". so yes...depends on what you want from a car. Oh and yes they arent cheap to fix.

Owned an A3 2008 with the 4cyl and I loved it. I only got rid of it because of a new baby.I will be buying another one when the little one is a bit older.

Look nice, but seem overpriced.

It is only rated for 21-30 MPG US which is lower compared to the Pontiac Vibe. It seems anyone who is looking to get 30 + mpg should not be considering this vehicle.

um, anything with a turbo is usually looked at for practicality, utility and POWER. something the Vibe cannot offer. And seriously, you can't compare ANY Audi to a vibe. the fit and finish are two worlds apart. LOL. Yes, they are nice. I think they aren't that bad of a price for a german engineered vehicle. however, as NV mentioned, very pricey to fix. I can't remember if they are awd or not, but I have a friend who has one and loves it.I also enjoy my turbo'd wagon. and no, I don't care that it doesn't get 30 mpg. I get 20 mpg and still run 12.7 in the 1/4 mile. our base 5MT vibe with intake, exhaust and tune ran 16.5. it did get 30 mpg.

Yeah I was getting 35mpg on the hwy when i was actually able to go the speed limit :/ nice thing about having a 6th gear nothing like boost though...mmmmm. But if you are really set on a audi a3 and like the test drive you'll like the car, again everyone is different and wants different things form their cars. You have to make a list to see what car fits your needs best. ie. I wanted a FI car to autox and road rally, but were cheap and got good mileage. I had it down to a ms3 or the cobalt SS SC. I love both cars, both handle well, are fast, but the 2 door cobalt made me cringe a little because Ive never owned a 2 door before and I like having the space available just in case. So I went with the ms3, so far love the hell out of the car, id buy it again...puts a damn smile on my face every morning :D

hahahaha! I like Saabs. But yes, a bit spendy. the nice thing, they come with a 4 yr bumper to bumper warranty vs just a 3 yr. Also, not to harp on it, but the 09 WRX is pretty nice, 265 hp and AWD. won't get the best fuel economy, but it sure does eat curves in any kind of weather or road conditions with plenty of space. Of course, right now, the 08 STI's are on super clearance and I've seen them going for $28K BRAND NEW! that's smoking deals!!!!

Yeah diesel prices are totally messed up in the US.Currently up here (southern Ontario) diesel is priced between regular and midgrade gasoline. 85 c/L for diesel where regular is 80 c/L.. Converted to $US and gallons that's $2.57/gal for diesel, $2.41 for regular. That being said, I still want my next car do be diesel The price of diesel should drop and/or stabilize soon after the production raises. There's more diesel cars on the way.

Spend an extra $600 and you'll add about 30 hp and 50 ft-lbs torque. If the front passenger seat folded completely flat like in the Vibe, I'd love it even more. However, the fit and finish of the car (it is a rally car afterall) still will not compare to the Audi interior and soft ride.

The new SAAB looks nice. I looked at the 9-3 before I bought the Vibe but couldn't afford it at the time as I was still in college.

I remember when I bought the LGT back in 05, GM was doing that employee pricing on the Saabaru, but wasn't quite what i was lookinf for at the time. The fit and finish of them is far superior imo. Saab and Audi vs your normal car.

Nice cars A3's are. But they are not worth what they cost and how much they cost to upkeep.
