You got that right!!! It is painful on the bare skin. Here is where we are at right now: It sure is nice having a garage...it was 9°F above in my garage this morning. That's a 33.8° difference!!!!!

I let the vibe warm up for a few while I put the mailbox out and gave all the dogs their morning pats on the head.Funny thing is the vibe never really warms up on the drive in until I hit the freeway. It stays at about 1/4 temp until then.

My Vibe said it was -11F when I came to work this morning. The temperature guage hardly moved on my 7mile drive to work and the car pretty much sounded like a tank!

Isn't electronic fuel injection awesome? Anyone remember carburators and throttle-body single-point injection? When it hit -10 you'd might be out there with a can of ether or dry gas trying to get the car started and hoping you didn't blow a ring or singe your eyebrows in the process! LOL Batteries are also a lot better in cold weather now than they were just 15 or so years ago.

Nope, no block heater here.Good thing I finally changed out my battery a few weeks ago. I still had the original, which is surprising for those pieces of junk to make it 6 years! I doubt I would have started it with that!

The block heater is awesome in this cold weather! The Vibe will start right up even on the coldest days. Not really that useful for me though since I haven't driven it all winter. I wish my Blazer had a block heater!

It was -31°C here this morning (-24°F). Will be like this for the next 3 or 4 days...That's REALLY cold...I'm glad I got the block heater.

Same here in Ottawa -- I park in a garage so the vibe started with no issues. leaving work might be another story

I was wondering if this thread would get started. A warm 2 above today around Indy. The Vibe wasn't happy to start on the drive home, but treated it to a little something, picked up a new battery. Still had the OEM one in it.

I need a coolant flush..

Brrr. I was down in Regina when you guys got that cold snap in Dec (-36). I'm glad we got a chinook this week and we're sitting at +11C. I've dealt with enough -30C this year. I'm done.

Close off all the grill intakes. That will help the coolant warm up a bit quicker when its this chilly.

I Duck Taped the upper grill on my trix on the outside. Not really great looking but who cares, my temp gage goes almost half up and I get heat really fast.No block heater. In Minnesota a warm up is around the corner.

The problem I think is the engine is too small and doesn't heat up enough, not compared to how cold it is.I can sit in any other of my vehicles in this weather and feel the temps rise/watch the temp gauge climb.I sat in the vibe idling before a drysuit dive when it was snowing and the temp gauge just sank lower and lower and the vents blew colder and colder air.Moral of the story? When it is this cold I drive my Blazer :-)Ha ha...not really....the vibe is more fun in the snow than the 4x4

Minus 7 F today and the 2009 started right up on the first turn of the key. No unusual noises. I let it warm for a good 15 minutes while helping the neighbor. I had to help jump-start the neighbors car and take him to Pep Boys for stuff and ended up coming in to work late.

It was -22F when I came in to work this morning, according to my computer it is -1F currently. Mid 20's tomorrow! Wahoo!

glad to send you all our weather. we had -22F temps for 3 weeks straight! last friday, it was -23F at my house, this morning on my way to work it was +42F!!! and in about 3 days this week we had a 60 deg temp change! everything is a melting mess outside and we have some chinook winds ripping things off our houses. this year, our fence stayed up, but our 4' dish got blown down.

woot! +46F this morning on the way to work. too bad the snow's melted and the wind blew down one section of the fence. our grass is green, but we're afraid it will die once the freeze hits us again. no way we're keeping these crazy spring temps with it only being mid Jan.

I saw a coldest of -12 one morning. My 03 on the Oe battery has so far started up every time but it is slow cranking at these temps. Right now it is 19 degrees here.

Worst here I've seen this week was -15. Wife killed the 95 Neon somehow. Hopefully just dead battery or too cold for it.Should replace the Vibe's battery. Haven't changed it since we bought it in 06, and it's an 03 and the battery terminals were real nasty when we bought it. Might be the original

here in colorado it's been unusually warm, 60 today. We had a couple days a few weeks ago were we never made it out of the negatives. Cars were dying everywhere, I'm glad the vibe holds out so well in the cold.

I guess that's what happens when you plug a 2.4L engine into a heater designed for a 1.8L
