I was browsing thru the wonders of ebay when I saw these: http://cgi.ebay.ca/2x-18-SMD-9...l1116Then I was thinking about my fog glass that kept cracking apart. (Replaced both fogs twice with OEMs and with some ugly aftermarket kit that looked like 2 burning suns )I think my main problem it that I am always running my fogs even in our very cold winters (-38°C, -36°F forecast tonight) and the glass just cannot withstand the temperature difference.Since LEDs barely produce heat, and some can produce a lot of lighting power, I was thinking it could be a good idea to try these as replacement blubs.it's longer lasting, energy effective and 6000K color that could fit great with those HIDs I want to order too also, I saw one dealer selling LED bulbs replacements for all around the car...Any thoughts or experience?

why not try it... i don't think anyone else has done the led fog thing. a few of us have an led third brake light...if you're the first one, you can be the led fog guinea. keep us posted

I love LED's but heres the thing, until they find a way to actually reflect their useful light, they SUCK so bad for actually lighting a area like a real bulb. They are directional and produce no ambient light that is really useful. If you want good fogs get HIR bulbs which are fairly cheap OR HID's. those LED fog lights will do nothing for actual lighting of the road, they will be mostly for looks as when you look at the front they will "look" bright. Ive seen peoples interior led lights and you cant see crap inside. The floor wasnt lit up enough, parts of the interior were dim, not worth it if you want to actually use them for real life purposes. I know it's not the same but I've made a bulb replacement in my Maglite, switching from the standard halogen to the official Maglite LED replacement and it's a night and day difference. It produces a great powerful long distance blue beam when correctly focused and uses a fraction of my batteries.That flashlight is always in my car, freezing from -40 to cooking at 120° during summer, the led never stopped working great and I never changed the batteries yet!So that made me a LED fan

I do tons of console modifications and led's are a main part but for serious "I would like better visibility" led's will not work. And look what happens with the mag, if "correctly focused" it makes a spot bright. Theres no ambient light and you dont have projectors in your fogs. LED's are just not ready to be used as any sort of front light (turning blinker maybe) at this point in time. Like I said they will fit, but they will do you nothing but worse visibility than stock. Get the HIR's they have a pretty powerful output.Oh and to address your fog light lens breaking, its not your bulbs its the rocks on the road. Those fogs crack for almost EVERYONE. I've had HIR's in my fog lamps for almost a year with no melting. The only thing that melted a bit was the yellow vinyl applique I put on the lamps. But I am replacing my fog lamps this summer and going back to regular clear style. As for LED light. It is a nice looking feature but as told above, they do not produce much useful light. Even those LED flashlights are pretty dim compared to regular bulbs. And given the design of a foglamp you are only getting point light and it will not be enough to make any noticeable difference.
