I know the economy's slow, but this seems more than just a little fishy...

Thought about it, but I'm concerned it could be a copycat of this:

This would not be the first time I have seen bull like this. One of the big things that the car club I belong to is decoding the VIN's of classic cars. There are way to many LeMans being passed off as GTO's, Malibu's as SS's and Mustangs as the GT cars. In the last year I think that they have reported at least 30 scams on ebay, craigslist, and Kiji. If the seller is willing to give the VIN then check with GM and local authorities. GM will hold the record for approximately 15 years. I cannot speak for Alberta but in Ontario for $20 you can get a vehicle abstract that will break down if there are any leins, accidents reported or if the car has been written off. I find this one to be more reliable than that of a Carfax report.

I'm betting that isn't his car. He didn't even mention that it has chrome Z06 wheels.

Doesn't sound quite right. I'd be willing to pay $7,000 for it though.

But the listing says "sale by dealer".I'd hope that if it was a divorce the disgruntled one selling would not put a price on it and leave it open for offers if they didn't know the value of the car.
