I have a base 2004 Vibe. It has not been lowered. The inside tread of both rear tires are wearing faster than the outside. Is there a common part to both that should be changed, or is it now nescessary to install camber kits on both sides. Have both rear spings worn out to cause this, if that's possible. I clicked the link for TSB on the subject, but all you can see is the TSB# and not actually read any info put out by GM to the dealers. If a camber kit is needed what would be the easiest for a do-it-yourselfer to install. Any help or advice from Vibe Veterans will be appreciated.

Only the awd cars have camber adjustments on the rear.The fronts on all models don't have camber adjustments, with out adding camber bolts or inlarging the top bolt hole on the lower mount on the strut to alow for camber adjustment. The later is what I would recommend. Though camber bolts do work there have been cases on really bad pot holes that it moves the camber.I would start with getting the car on the rack and seeing what needs to be fixed.I have a set of camber bolts I can sell you that I never used. I bought them but never needed them because I inlarged the upper bolt hole on the my front struts.

hhmmmm. my issue is that one of back tires has some camber, but not the other. i figured it was supposed to be that way, i also haven't noticed any wear on that tire. maybe i should look when i take off the winters.

Have you been rotating your tires regularly? In my experience the fronts wear on the outside and if rotated often things would balance out.

The tires have been rotated. Front end alignment is good. I know that a shim set can correct the negative camber. What I would like to see is the actual TSB put out by GM on the subject. If there is a condition that would cause the shims to only be a temporary fix, then I guess the extra money I would have to spend on replacement GM(expensive) would be a better investment, as opposed to the temporary(shim) repair. The shim fix could also be costly due to the number of times the car needs to be brought in to check the alignment. Has anybody out there actually read the full GM TSB? I'm wondering if my rear coil springs have weakened enough to cause this issue.
