GT Question

Does anyone else have a problem with their rev limiter on the Vibe GT? Mine is kicking in around 7500. I'm pretty sure this should not be the case. Just wanting to find out if I'm errant in my thinking before I call Pontiac.

I have heard talking with other owners and also Matrix owners it seems like they can rev 500 to 700 RPM over the 7,600 RPM mark.

Interesting. I tried again this morning on the way to work and really paid attention to the tach. It's actually at 7300 and it shuts down hard.

Can you go higher in the RPMs after the car has warmed up? I believe I have read somewhere that cold engine RPMs are limited.

Good thought. I'll give that a try today. I'm pretty sure it should have been warm by the time I got to the highway this morning, but maybe not... Thanks for the tip!!

Great news! It worked. I drove about 4 miles and let the engine warm up, then put 'er down and off it went. Right up to 8K! Guess it just wants to warm all the way up. What a blast!! Love my GT!!
