80+km on my old Vibe which I sold to my folks, now has transmission issues. According to my dad, there was a weird exhaust like rattle that started up the other day while driving. It was gone later that day and back the next. Sounds like the characteristic bearing failure the 5spd was known for. He took it to a transmission shop in Ingersol Ontario but I'm not sure if they tore into it already. From the sound they said it was transmission and likely caused from spinning the tires. While I can't say my folks don't spin tires... I know I sure have. But front wheel drive vehicles are designed for some wheel spin... IMO.Now anyone on here with access to canadian GM vin information? I know the Vibe had 100k power train warranty. I just don't know the time limit. The Vibe went into service in Dec 2003. I told my dad to tell the shop not to tear into if they hadn't yet, and not repair it until he checks with a GM dealership. Knowing my dad though... he'll probably procastinate with it until its to late. and the wife wonders why I procastinate haha

As for the rattle, that's the dreaded magnaflow resonator rattle.Mine has developed that recently,it's more of an annoyance than anything.Hope the tranny problem isn't a costly one. From what I remember the powertrain is 5yrs/100k here in Canada.

Yeah I'm thinking it expires today but it depends on when the dealership actually processed the paperwork and entered it with GM.and its not the exhaust... I sold the magnaflow.
