Wonder if it has all the retainers/clips to install it? Also, curious on how much it would cost to paint to match anyone's existing Vibe colour.

Just a word of advice if installing this kit on unpainted cladding,if you have the money get the cladding painted because every few months the 2 sided tape will come off.Pulling it off and re-taping gets costly and is a PITA.

I was thinking about doing it. I'm gonna go around to shops in the area when I get the body kit to find out how much its gonna run me to make my Vibe monotone.

Patrick-What did the guy end up charging you for the body kit?The seller tried saying that I needed to pay him an additional $55 AFTER he had shipped it (and already had left positive feedback), due to the package being oversized. He should have known the shipping rates prior to selling it to me and prior to actually sending it.If he would have told me before actually shipping it that he had made an error, then MAYBE i would have given him the extra money, or would have just asked for a refund. But the package is on its way here, he said it should be here by Friday. And, no way he's tryin to scam me outta more money....

Congratulations you are going to be getting two items. A poster size picture of the body kit on a Vibe. And a smaller picture which is the for sale picture on the Ebay site autographed by the guy who sold it to you. LOL!hope it works out.

As someone who works with UPS shipments, many of which are oversized, on a daily basis, it can be difficult to tell what is "oversized" and what is not in UPS terms. There is a very fine line where 1-2 lbs of packaging weight or 1 or 2" on a box can throw you from $20 to $70 when you are talking about something that is heavy. For instance, some of our Christmas trees ship for $20 because they are not oversized (usually 6-7.5' trees) but when you go up to the 9' tree, the carton isn't that much larger, but it is enough to make it be $75 or more to ship that box. If he packaged it up after he calculated shipping weights, then it sounds like he just didn't account properly for the packaging's size or weight. If he was trying to scam you he probably wouldn't have shipped it until you paid the extra $$.

Now that I have the kit in hand, the next question is do I get it painted? I have only opened the box to look at it, I haven't actually had it up to the vehicle. With my Vibe being a two-tone Abyss, and the body kit being silver, how does everyone think it would look leaving it the way it is? I personally think that the transition from Abyss>Grey>Silver might look a lil funny and unfinished. My options are to get the cladding and kit painted to abyss and have a monotone (but I am afraid of paint quality with our winters here). I would like to go the correct route and actually replace the cladding with the monotone cladding, but the junkyards here don't have many Vibes and are unwilling to take parts off.Or I could go the route that Kevera did with having the same color body and kit, while leaving the grey cladding as-is.Input?

It would look silly if you didn't paint it. But don't forget that it's kind of a pain if you don't paint the cladding. The kit won't stick as well.

I would wait til spring, then get the cladding and the kit painted black.Take it from my experience, the kit will come off the unpainted cladding.Tape is expensive and the time it takes to remove the old tape(have a look at how much tape is on the whole kit),it's a PITA.Don't say I didn't warn you.The cladding is the same painted-unpainted,they just put a flex agent on it when they paint it.

If it's the right color silver, I'll buy it from you for what you paid for it... that way you don't have to worry about painting anything...
