Seat Belt Latch Hitting Center Console and Making A Rattling Noise

Well, of the last few days here has been a rattling noise. Was trying to figure out where it was coming from and finally pin pointed the noise to the latch portion of the seat belt hitting the center console. When in the seat, my hips are pushing the seat belt latch against the center console with ever little bump on the road and causes the noise. Plastic against plastic is not a desirable noise. So today I went to JoAnn Fabrics and picked up one 9" x 13" felt pad with adhesive backing. Placement of the felt will allow the backside of the seat belt latch to side against the center console without making noise. A few other manufactures have done this to their vehicles, yet it is lacking on the Vibe. Total cost for the felt was $2.13 with tax. Very inexpensive modification. What I will do today or this weekend is: 1. measure the backside of the seat belt latch2. make a template3. trace the template on the backside of the felt4. cut the felt on the line that was traced5. clean the back side of seat belt latch with alcohol6. let dry7. remove the paper backing from the felt8. center/alight felt and place9. repeat on front passenger side

It seems you made 9 steps out of 3 CutPeelStickBut before I clicked on the thread, thats what I was going to suggest. I use a piece on my truck to keep the keys from clacking the dashboard. Some buicks have a rubber pad from the factory to fix this defect too.
