Hi guys,I'm a new Vibe base owner and I really need to get an affordable but good quality car cover for my new Vibe as soon as possible. I got up this morning and I was not happy to see several scratches on the hood of my 4 day old Vibe I have no idea what happened to my hood but I need to buy a cover that doesn't cost big $ but will protect it from getting any more scratches and also stand up to the the rain/snow we get here in the northeast.Anyone here have any suggestions? Anyone here already have a cover on their Vibe that is stored outside in a northern climate? If so, how is it holding up, are you happy with it?Do any of the covers out there make allowances for the antenna or do you have to remove/install it each time you cover/uncover your car? Thanks in advance for any info or help you can give me in finding an outdoor protective cover for my new Vibe.

Scratches on the top a car are usually caused by cats, or another nocturnal animals. If the car is parked near trees or bushes, the cat uses the car to get higher up so it can better attack birds or other game. The scratches come when the cat tries to jump off, loosing footing on the slick surface. So if your Vibe is destined to park in the same place each night, a cover is a very good idea. Just be aware that the cover will give the beast better traction.Very sorry to hear of your new Vibe's damage. Call the insurance co. They may be able to help repair the damage, assuming you figure out how to avoid it in the future.KSNeptune

Sorry to hear about the damage after 4 days. Hopefully you can find a decent cover at a low price. If the scratches were caused by animals, make sure the cover is thick enough or their claws may still be able to go through it. By the way, where on L.I. are you from? I'm from Oakdale but travel to Nassau everyday for work. I just put Genvibe decals on the rear corner windows. Maybe I'll see ya on the road.

PBFlash, I'm originally from Suffolk and lived there for many years but then I moved to Nassau and have been living here in Hicksville for the last 7 years.

hey, I was looking for a car cover for my Grand Prix too. A lot of people on the GP boards are happy with http://www.calcarcover.com/contact.aspThey're kinda pricy, but I also read that the NOAH material sold by some other companies starts to rip after a while. If you just want it to cover your paint, i'm sure any cheaper cover from an auto-parts store would work too.

I just ordered my car cover tonight after checking out dozens of web sites and many different types of covers. I really didn't want to spend a lot of money but after checking out the cheaper covers and the lower rated protection from the weather they offered I decided to spring for a better, but more expensive cover that would better protect my Vibe since it will be living outside for years to come. I just bought "The Weather Shield" at http://www.autoanything.com for $237.95 with no added sales tax or shipping charges. It wasn't cheap but it was less than any other web site I checked that sold the exact same cover. The other sites wanted $269.95 or $289.95 for the same exact cover plus shipping. They said it's a really good 4-layer cover that offers great all weather protection that comes with a 4-year warranty, it's not supposed to mildew or rot and they claim you can even clean it in a regular washer/dryer without destroying it. I hope it's everything they say it is or my Vibe might not look as good as it does now after a few years outside.
