Front bumper

Has anybody purchased a new front bumper? I'm looking for prices, and the dealer claimed that the bumper on the 06 was in two pieces, upper and lower. I can't see how. It sure looks like one piece to me. Also, has anybody replaced the front bumper? Is it a possible DIY job? I don't really do much body work.

As for replacing the bumper; Ragingfish had an excellent thread on removing the front bumper and there are also pictures of KeithVibe taking his off - if he can do it, anyone can. Here is the link to Ragingfish's write-up: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=12551

you can take the front bumper off yourself. Don't know if my in-laws still have the 03/04 silver one I had anymore, but since they bought our 04 Fusion Vibe last year, probably hanging onto it just in case.

It is one piece Just don't forget to to unplug the fog light harness from the bulbs before you start to pull it away.

Well that's good news. My wife clipped a snowbank and a sign and I was really hoping to avoid the rigamarole of going through rcmp/insurance/auto bodys. It looks as though the damage is localized to the bottom bumper and grills only. Thanks a lot for pointing me to that thread (and the write up itself). That should save me a bundle.
