I hate that song but right now its as accurate as I can be. I've been parking in roughly 18 inches of snow and now my 04 awd shakes violently above like 40-50mph. I was telling a coworker about it and he said most likely its just snow(ice) packed into the inside of the wheel throwing off the balance. That makes perfect sense. But I am also ridiculously gullible sometimes. So has anyone else had this problem before? It was 4 degrees F Saturday where I was. And the only reason I have been parking in so much snow is these douche bags in the complex I live haven't plowed yet. NOT EVEN ONCE. My only other question is, My car was shakin for a few days(naively i thought it would go away) will that have done other damage to the car?

Park it inside a heated parkade for a few hours or take it through a nice hot automatic car wash and see if it still does it.18"? I'm impressed you're getting through that.

lol i drove through just shy of 20 inches of snow in my first car. Pontiac Sunbird. Ive done more than enough winter driving(aka screwig around) so i ont even worry about getting stuck anymore. especially with the awd

yup --- probably snow/ice buildup. I've had it happen to me on the hwy. I had a car wash that got rid of the snow

While it is probably packed snow in the wheels.it might be that a wheel balance wheight has fallen off as well. So if the snow/ice removla doesnt seem to fix it.Take 'er in for a ballance.

well i took it through a delta sonic(so i can get a free car wash within 5 days.) and it seems better. I have not taken it on the highway yet but if it is still shaking than it would have to be a weight has fallen off. I feel so ignorant never having heard of snow packing in your wheels and throwing the balance off. It was shaking so bad I thought it was irrepairably damaged.

Are you listening to dance music when this happens?

Usually happens at least once a winter for me.

Usually a wheel weight won't make it shake nearly as bad as snow/ice build up inside the wheel. so if it is still shaking a little (but not nearly as bad as it was) after the car wash, most likely you've gotten most of the build up gone, but if there could still be some build up causing the out of balance. worse case senario would be to take it to a shop and have them pull the wheels, they could make sure theres no build up of ice, and re-balance the tires to make sure, but I wouldn't go to that extreme right away.

Sometimes it's enough, but more than a few times, I end up at the DIY car wash in 10* weather, cleaning the wheels out.... You live there and never had this happen before...? I used to live in buffalo and it happened allllllll the time... of course, I was rallying around alll the time to, though... lol

It happens to me yearly. Just put it in a warm place for a night. the carwash most likely did not get all the Ice.

lol it is my first time havig this happen. Although in the past i havent been driving like a wintercross maniac. andparking in 18iches of snow.. damn this keyboard blows. lol. so anyways did the carwash and got up to 80mph's on the way to work tonight. NO SHAKE at all. and i get another free carwash anytime now til the 27th. so im good to go.
