03 base vibe. slight fender bender. drivers side back-up light needs to be replaced. aftermarket on web is $35.,but passenger side is $15. if you was gonna glue/silicon the thing in positon should the pass side work on drivers side. anyone ever took it outta the bumper. i tried to get it out with flat screw driver and was messing up the plastic around the insert of bumper.

I would never ghettorig my car....sooo I would probably do it properly. No insurance on the car? so you want to save 20 bucks by using 20$ in silicone to maybe have it stick? meh not a good idea imo.

No Offense = This is the new orleans area. very few people can afford comp insurance on a car worth $7000. The premium & deductible is a killer. btw What,s wrong with silicon . Necessity is the mother of invention. I hate to see the parts places getting over on a hard working American. Why does it cost more than double for apparantly the same part on the other side of a car??

well no offense but you asked for an opinion and got one..no need to be all (removed) over it. Ive had full coverage on a car worth less than that for multiple reasons... but since you dont, and you obviously dont want to pay the extra 20 for a proper reverse lamp then yes try silicone.

Sounds like you've made up your mind, but...rockauto.com has aftermarket knock-off replacements for both sides, $25.79 ea (p/n GM2882106 for driver's side.)If you google that part number you can find all sorts of other outlets to obtain that part at various price points...
