I am just wondering about the top speed of our cars. Mention how fast you have gone in yours and also what the factory claims the top speed to be. Base vibes/matrix please share also. I've had mine up to about 120 mph on a open stretch. '03 vibe gt

I think I've taken it up to 180kph. I'm just to scared to take it further on the open roads. Maybe one day when I go to a track or something.Anyone else?

if you do a search, I believe there is a thread on this already. I know I've had mine to about 125, maybe 130? I can't remember now. I'm on car #3 since the Vibe. 03 VGT. also had the our 04 Vibe to about 110 mph

In a quick acceleration run I took the Vibe to 100 (miles per hour) in 4th. Considering its a 6 speed I would guess somewhere around 135 would be the top speed.

1zz = 115mph2zz = was yes like 125-130.

1zz is not 115. i got mine to what im going to call 122. speaking of speeds does the scanguage2 have a digital spedo?

your speedo must be off then or maybe the awd is different. but the 1zz is electronically limited to 115.

i had an 03 AWD, it was rev limited to 115, no doubt.

139 is top speed on 03 GT and fuel shut off

Does anyone actually push the speed limiter? I wouldn't feel safe driving a buck-forty in a less-aerodynamic Corolla.

09 gt auto. 120 mph and still had more to go.

I hit a buck and a quarter in my '04 at high elevation (8000ft). I think she could have gone higher at sea level...

2005 Base up to I think it was 111 mph or 180 km/h

1zz is electronically limited at 114 or 115.2zz at 130

does it hit top speed in 5th or 6th? My Dad's '98 Z28 hits maximum speed in 5th gear.

figured I'd resurrect this old thread. Struck me as odd this morning when i pushed my 03 base in some cold morning air. I fired up the GPS before i hit that stretch of road and got a 119.4mph reading before i started coming up on some traffic. Car felt nice and stable and the tires are V rated so i wasn't worried about the rubber. Surprisingly smooth and there were still some revs left in 4th gear (5-spd stick) to possibly hit 120mph. It surprised me to get that far since i though it was limited to 115 mph.

09 base 1.8, 5000rpm, 5th gear, 185km/h then you hit the speed limiter. Too bad that there's nowhere other then the track or frozen lake where you can legally drive this speed!

edmunds inside line reported the 03 GT as a top speed of 135. maybe limited. 4th runs out at 115 or so but idk about 5th and 6th.

Yeah, too bad. And there aren't any lakes around here that are big enough! Although if you're on the west coast you have the salt flats, so there's always that.

I had mine at 135-137 mph, it was tough to get a good look at that speed and the bumps in the road made it rough
