Ok, so I am going on vacation and I am flying there...My car will be outdoor in winter condition.... What should I do to ensure it will be in good condition when I return?

lock it. and take the keys with you. i'm sure it'll be fine, mine sits outside all winter. Gets dirty.

+1. it should be fine. When you get back, let the car warm up for a minute or two before driving away.If you are parking at an airport it might not be a bad idea to throw a small shovel in the back. If it snows they'll just plow the snow off the aisle leaving a snowbank that you have to drive thru to get out of your parking spot. I've had to dig cars out before.

i have to check the book again, but don't car makers say if a car needs to sit for longer than a week to disconnect the battery? i would also say clean out the car and only keep the essentials in there. don't leave anything valuable in there or visible.

I left my old sable sit for the school year...had to start it once a month or week...hmm. But disconnecting the battery could be a good idea if no one would be there to start it up to let it run while you are gone, but it is new.... Id prolly go with you'd be fine just leaving it. May want to put a fabric sheet in your engine bay and inside to keep squirrels and mice out though....but remember them when you get back.

i parked my vibe at the hamilton ontario airport last week for a week and it was fine. like it was said take out all the ipods and stuff and let it run for a little when you get back and all should be good

supposedly it keeps them out...we put one under the car, in the engine bay and in the car and I didnt have mice inside it :shurg:

Mice in the engine bay does happen rather frequently where I live. Heck even cats too!! Not sure if it depends more on what state you live in, but here in Indiana, it's not uncommon to hear of that problem.

Bounce sheets work wonders for mice. We had a storage bay that I used bounce sheets in. Never had one in our stall, even though there were mice in other stalls. So wave your simpson's quoting tiger rock somewhere else 2 weeks isn't much for a car to be sitting. Plug it in. Fly. Drive.

Not to get off topic here, but Irish Spring Soap (Bars) work extremely well for keeping furry critters at bay....and when you get back, just slide the soap back in the box and use it in the shower. Use this every year before I store my boat.As for leaving your car sit out. Remove everything of value, make sure all lights are shut off, and lock it up.....
