Any way to get more heat from '09 Vibe?

I son't seem to get much heat from my '09 Vibe. It was 13 degrees today and I had to have the heat on full blast even after engine was fully warmed up.I used to other vehicles where I would roast with the heat on full blast. Even my VW Golf diesel would roast me to death at full heat after warmed up.It isn't a huge issue yet, but I am worried about what happens when it gets colder like -10 or -15F.

It was -15 this morning over here and the heater at full blast warmed up the car just as quickly as any other car I've driven during winter.

It hasn't been colder than 20 degrees here in NY yet, but my 09 heats up very well. I can't leave it on full for more than 5 minutes or I'm roasting. It was the same with my 06 Vibe. You may want to have the dealer check your coolant and thermostat.

holy crap you are from where my parents live!!! Hmm it should be pretty darn warm with in 10 min of driving. If not I would bring it into the dealer. My 04 vibe would get crazy hot so the 09's shouldnt have any issue.

I live in Edmonton, Alberta, and we are currently getting down to minus 20 Celcius. I find that the thermostat rises about 1/4 of the way very quickly. This level provides some decent heat. BUT, once I drive it for about 15-20 minutes, the thermostat rises to about mid-level and the heat is HOT. In short - no problems here either.

I talked to the dealer and they thought I should be getting more heat.I didn't make an appointment yet. I also have a bad rattle from the dashboard at highway speeds that can be stopped by placing hand on top of the dash. I will try to remember to check the coolant this evening.

i found after i added all the sound deadner that the car stayed cooler, warmed up faster, and cooled down faster. Not to mention it was much quieter.

You must have something wrong with your car. It's been down in the 20's here in the D and I can't leave the heat all the way up for more than 10 minutes without making gravy. (I know, TMI.... sorry)

There's a possibility the heater door (behind the dash) is not fully closing thus allowing cold outside air to mix with the hot air at the heater core. If the dash temp gauge shows normal (mid-way), I'd suspect the heater door not closing fully.

This may seem basic, but please indulge me: The best setting for max heat output is: Recirc-on, vent to floor and obviously temp control all the way to the hot side. On my way home today in 22 degree F ambient temp, car sitting for 6 hours. I had Recirc off, vent to floor, fan on 3 and heat all the way on. With no warm up and normal driving, the air in the cabin was not cold in 4 minutes. after 6 minutes I had to turn the fan and heat down cause it was getting too hot.

FYI-remember the recirc may cause your windows to fog when you have it in heat position. This is due to NO fresh air to replace the moist air. I have seen this in other cars many times. Also, The previous Vibe had an issue with the cabin temp control cable not being properly set at the factory. Mostly causing too much heat and the A/C not to be cold enough. But this was easy to fix.

At 30 °F I can still turn the interior fan off on the highway and get enough heat from natural air flow through the heater to drive with my coat off. So, yes, there should be room for you to get more heat out of it. Have it checked. Do you have the 1.8 or 2.4? I've got the 2.4.
sound deadener?

What sound deadener applications are you talking about? Is there a way to make the interior more quiet? DamonSt. Louis, MO
