new transmission leaking arh!!

just got a new 5 speed transmission on my 03 vibe two weeks ago. last week i stopped at the local library and left the car running for a minute while i dropped of a book. i came back out and the car was making a weird whinnying noise from the tranny. three day ago i noticed small puddles in the driveway where i park the car. so i crawl up underneath it and see that the transmission is leaking. it looks like from the drain plug but im not positive. so i am out of a car again.

this happened to my bosses 5.0 mustang. Turns out the new gasket he got from napa was a craptastic knock off from oem. When it was replaced did they/you use a OEM toyota gasket? is there a crack in the trans case? Get underneath and try to find where its coming from.Maybe the drain plug doesnt have the right gasket ring on it?

the squeaking noise is coming from the rear main seal. the auto tech said that the cold weather is causing it to squeak. he said to try to lube it and the sound should go away. however the leaking problem is coming from the drivers side cv joint boot. they said it is a small leak and they will replace the boot on friday, free of charge.
