I own 2 Vibes, 06 for college daughter (just graduated) and 09 for wife (traded in 98 Suburban when gas was killing us). I love them both. Both are base models, wife's is red. We liked the gas mileage, good looks, roomy interior, quiet smooth ride, and hopefully great long term reliability (I plan to keep all vehicles at least 10 years). I used my GM mastercard both times, got great deals, great Pontiac dealership (Beck & Masten, Houston), so I went Pontiac instead of Toyo Matrix, plus help the US economy a little.I'm not a car enthusiast. I do minor maintenance myself (oil changes, spark plugs, engine coolant, light bulbs, battery, air filter). I found this site looking for info on my first oil change, a little tricky on the 09 Vibe 1.8 Liter; never did a cartridge like that before.I won't do my own brake pads, but I will be interested in best replacement pad. I get interested in tires when its time.In the heat here in Houston, I paid up about $400 for a ceramic tint job on the windows. With the black interior, it really helps when combined with a sun reflector in the windshield when parked in the sun.Glad to be here!

I've been using one tint shop for 10 years, and I trust the guy, so he picked it out. It was NOT one of the big 3 brands. It has a lifetime warranty. It is the best tint I've used for heat reduction, by far. If you are going to put tint on your windows, they are NOT all alike.Reading indicates generation 1 tint was just a dye that did not protect much nor last long. Generation 2 was the metallic and it was good on UV reduction and durability but not good on infrared reduction, like 25% and all the heat comes from the infrared. Generation 3 is the ceramic and it has all the good of metallic and it repels about 75% of the infrared! Best stuff so far.
