I am paranoid having had some highly damaging hacker attacks.I get an IM on 11-16 from a Bob Smith - m4p - just a few minutes after his sign up. Bob Smith, John Doe, same difference.Sorry - I am not responding. But if you see this "Bob", that Costco Battery is doing just fine!

Sometimes new members aren't up to the task of posting in a thread, it could be that Bob is a frequent lurker here and signed up just to be able to ask you that question. I've gotten a number of IMs like that, usually I just recommend they ask the question in a thread, that way everyone can benefit from the question and the answer, but moreso and especially in my case, so that others have the opportunity to correct me when my answer is wrong. So Bob, speak up, introduce yourself, it's ok.

I have been emailed/im'd a couple times from lurking owners... Its okay but yeah they'd be better off posting and getting more responses.

I also wanted to add that responding to an IM on this site does not open you to "hacker attacks."No users can get any IP information or other information about your computer or its location on any network through this board software.
