It takes several attempts for my recently installed remote starter to start my '03 Vibe. Do you think I should concentrate on the car or remote starter? By the way, I installed a new battery a couple of months ago.Thanks.

If you hear the engine cranking for a few seconds and it doesn't start within a try or two, the problem is with the car.

I also have a remote starter on my 2003 Vibe. It has never, even during the coldest Michigan days, taken more than two tries - and I've had the remote start since shortly after getting this Vibe. I sincerely hope your problem is minor. Let us know.

I can't figure it out. The car runs like a champ. It won't respond to the remote starter in colder weather. I'll have her checked out.

Did you install it? Or did a shop install it? If a shop did it, take it back.. It could be a number of things... is it cranking the car over... does it start to crank and then stop? So much more info is needed..

It was installed Dec 2007. The car cranks, but won't turn over. It tries three times then de-activates. I think the remote doesn't give the car enough time to turn over in colder weather. I wonder if this can be modified?

I also have an 03 Vibe 5spd. I have a Pro-Start 2 way starter/alarm combo from Canadian Tire. My BF and I installed mine the fall of 07 and I have never had a fault with it. I live in Alberta and we hit -45C and never takes more than the first try to start it. If you can give me more details on crank time required to start the car with the Key vs the remote start i can try to help find out what the issue is. some units have a setting for crank time/duration etc... and if you can tell me what brand/model the remote unit is. also i have Mitchel On Demand if you need wire diagrams.

I have the same problem with my Vibe 03 AWD , it takes a few tries to start when its below - 20 ,the car seems to start then it stops running and tries again , it cranks over then seems to start and then stops . I tool it to the dealer they adjusted something it didn't work then I got a new battery and that didn't help either.I would like to add that when I get into the car a press the starter button and step on the gas as the car is trying to start it does on the first couple of cranks.Any help would be welcomed.

If the car starts ok with the key, it is something with the remote starter.I found my fails to start in cold weather and determined the problem was with the switch that is used for the front hood to ensure it is closed. I changed it for a better one and the problem went awayIf the remote starter requires a tach wire and it is connected incorrectly that may cause a problem as well.
