http://www.news8austin.com/con...24484Social Networking Sites Like Facebook and MySpace are viewed by more than just your friends and can lead you into trouble.Beware what you make public about yourself as that is exactly what you are doing.I'm sure no one here is posting things that could later be regreted.

LOL, my boss is on my friends list. Of course I don't have anything personally damaging on there. If I were actively seeking in the job market, the first thing that would happen is the deletion of my accounts.

Hey, I never thought of that. I know of a guy who got kicked to the curb because he was a pushing 50 with NO job, NO money, NO assets, NO credit rating, NO future, ghetto car, nonproductive, non-taxpaying, slacker member of society! I only made my page public because I wanted to warn other hardworking consumers about the deface shop. But OK, friends and comments now hidden. (sorry friends!) Thanks

Its very simple, You make your page private so nobody can see status updates or pictures or any of that. And you only give them limited access when you do things. Like keeping them out of your albums and stuff. Most people are ignorant and just give access. I don't have any of my bosses on my FB and I am keeping it that way. New employment could not see anything but my profile picture and name. They cannot see my age, statuses, relationships, friends etc. So they are out of luck. And as far as MySpace, that site is horrid, takes forever to load pages and I'm glad I don't ever use it.
