My Vibe is the first car that I have REALLY gotten into modifiying and taking care of like polishing and waxing on a semi-regular basis. I just got done spending the day polishing and waxing by hand and the car looks beautiful in the sunlight. But under lights I still see fine little 'scratches' all over the hood. I put on Mequier's polish/scratch remover in 2 thin coats first applying in one straight direction and the second in the crossing direction then buff out by hand. Are those little marks suposed to be there or am I doing something wrong? But like I said it looks awesome in the sunlight, no marks (just chips from the Hwy ).

FCser got an accidented vibe. On the pics, you can see how the caldding hold on the car. You probably need to glaze the surface before waxing. If you have already waxed, you will need to use a wax remover, then use a glaze like Mother's Step 2 (from their three step system--step one is a wax remover/deep cleaner, btw) or some 3M Imperial Hand Glaze. One of those should help. Then rewax the surfaces that you were working on. If this does not work, then the surface will have to be buffed out with an electric buffer. I strongly suggest that you DO NOT go using an electric buffer on your car unless you have had some experience doing so and know what you are doing. You can cause more damage to your finish that would require repainting damaged surfaces if you use the buffer incorrectly. For detailed info on polishes and your paint surface, I have already discussed this at great length in the following thread in case you want to check it out: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=3644
