Saturday night about 9 pm. This section of 40/440 West has about 5-6 lanes. I was in the 2nd lane from the left. Moderate amount of traffic moving about 70 mph. Suddenly noticed a vehicle in my lane ahead was disabled/stopped; had flashers on. No way I could have not hit that vehicle if I stayed in my lane. What to do? Fortunately the passing lane on my left was clear so I was able to quickly change lanes and avoid a collision. Just beyond this all traffic seemed to have slowed to about 55 - many like me sort of shell shocked I am sure. I wonder if someone eventually collided with that vehicle. Could have been ugly.

I was behind a truck towing a boat on I-65 a few months ago, getting on the bridge to cross from KY to IN, when the truck's engine blew. A puff of white smoke, and the truck rolled to a stop in about 20 feet because it was dragged down by the weight of the boat. This bridge is 4 lanes wide on the northbound side, and the truck was in the second lane from the left. I saw it happen so I was able to slow down and get over, but I am sure someone else coming along wasn't paying attention and probably hit him. There's no shoulder on the bridge either. Not that you could push a truck with a boat behind it (very effectively anyway).
