I installed DUAL xhd 7714 audio receiver in my 06 base vibe.
http://www.dualav.com/receivers/xhd7714.htmlWhile installing one of the screw fell inside the console where stereo goes ... I lifted the carpet, removed the storage bin below the gear but could not find the screw. I did hit the console a few times to if I could hear it, but no luck. The stereo is installed (built in HD Radio, built in Bluetooth, mp3, wma, usb, ipod control) and sounds way better than factory one. Got it from walmart $140. It was the only piece left Back to screw story ...... should I be worried? Can it damage anything?

It should be just fine... about the only real dammage it might cause is shorting an electrical connection, BUT, most factory conections are covered well enough to not really worry... I see you must not have followed mt install tutorial well, cause I covered how NOT to lose the screws in it.... lol.... Good job BTW... snap some pics and drop them in the audio section..!!!

Yeah, cold hands NEVER help... lol... A little slice of electrical tape over the socket WILL help keep from losing the screw for future reference.. when I say over the socket, I mean overthe hole so when you put it in the bolt, the tape gets mashed between the bolt and socket..

Would you mind commenting on where you purchased the XHD7714? I have been looking and can't find a place to buy that model. Can you say how much you paid? Thanks!

Sorry for the delayed response!I saw another piece at walmart. The price was $140. You can get all the other stuff(schlose housing $12 -$15, wire harness $6) from walmart too. yOU'LL NOT NEED ANTENNA ADAPTER. The one that comes with stereo works perfectly with the vibe.

Thanks for responding. I looked at our local Walmart, but they didn't have it. They have other Dual units, but not this one. There wasn't even an XHD7714 on display. $140 is an excellent price. I will have to speak to the manager and see if he can get one. Thanks for all the info about the other pieces -- I would not have pegged Walmart for having everything.
