Gas gauge questions

Just got my '05 Vibe 5-spd and still working on my first tank of gas.Is there a low-fuel light that comes on when the gauge gets near E?When the gauge is on E, how much gas have you been able to add?(I know the tank capacity is 13.2 gallons). Right now I'm on 374 miles and still have 3/8 of a tank (accordingto the gauge). Do you find your gauge to be pretty linear or does it go down real fast when it gets to a certain point?

Looks like you're doing well in the mileage department. There is a warning light that comes on and I've found that a fill at that point takes about 10 gallons in our '06s. I've never had a fill take over 12 gallons and that includes letting the gauge get down to just below the 'E' mark. Definitely not linear which is my experience in most cars - not surprising given the odd shape of most fuel tanks.

Thanks. I hope you're right about the mileage. With only a 13.2 gal tank, I was wondering if I'd be able to get 400 miles per tank.I've had one car that had a linear gas gauge. It was a '96 Chevy Impala SS. As long as I filled up consistently, I could practically usethe gas gauge as a trip odometer and be within +/- 10 miles.
