The yellow is deep cycle for running big stereos and such without the engine running. I've had a red in my truck for about 4 years and it's excellent. Don't bother replacing yours until it dies unless you like spending money for nothing, they are very $$$ in Canada. I bought mine in NY.

Redtop provides most starting power and yellowtop is deep cycle for listening to music with the engine off or powering other accessories with the engine off. Redtops run $180 out here and the yellowtops run over $200 (US dollars). I bought a house brand battery from O'Reilly Auto Parts with similar CCA to the redtop and it cost me about $90. Some people say the Redtops are great some say they are a waste of money, I figured why gamble I could use the extra money for other things.

Don't by a Optima, old tech now... Sears Diehard Platinum AGM (absorbed glass mat tech) Guy I talked to at sears, rant a trail rig Jeep, had a dual battery set-up, running Optimas, he saud in 2 years he went through 5 of them... He runs the Platinum now and couldn't be happier.. Being in audio the way I am, I hear a lot about Optima failures also..
