Hey guys, I was here before with my wifes '03 base model. She got rear ended, totaled it out. Since got an '05.I drove it off the lot and didnt' check the coolant, its a little low.So.... I have a half a gallon or so of the long life coolant (red) left over from the last one, and this one has the super long life coolant (pink). So, I called two dealers, and neither one has stated they are compatible.Does anyone have alldata access that they can pull up TSB - PG010-02which is supposed to state the compatibility?I just want to top it off until I determine if it needs a radiator or not. Also, anyone know where I can get an adapter for testing the radiator with an old school pressure tester?thanks!Nick

Red will work, but since Toyota did update their coolant I would go to Toyota and buy the pink.Autozone should have an adapter to do a compression test on the coolant system.

Assume regular is 24 monthLong life = ?Super long life = ?It has been a mystery as to what coolant was in the '03 Vibes.Owners manual says to change at 24 months.Dealer said iti was Dexcool - change at 60 months.I changed OEM coolant at 24 months - the dealer used Dexcool.I changed that Dexcool 36 months after that. More Dexcool.I will change again on or about Jan. 2011 (if I am still here). The experts tell me my stocks may recover by then.

Wow, that's quite a scary wreck. I trust she came out of it OK?

Prestone also makes a coolant that's compatible with the dexcool/organic coolants.

Toyota pink came with all the original Vibes, and I'm guessing, every Vibe since then. Toyota pink is regular silicate coolant and not GM dexcool. However, most mechanics now are using a universal coolant, found at your local auto parts store. While I would not mix any dexcool (mix, blend, or otherwise) with the Toyota pink, once you have your system flushed, it does not matter if your mechanic switches you to the dexcool blend. Just stick with it if he/she does.
