I didn't opt to get the premium audio package with my vibe, but I do have XM and USB playback...The question is, hardware wise, what extra does the premium audio give? How can I add to make a comparable system with factory. Thanks

What system you have ? the base stereo from the factory of an aftermarket one ? I'm not sure what you mean by USB playback...

I have the basic factory stereo with the follwing option:1. XM radio2. MP3 playback... (sorry, not usb playback)

Not sure about the 2009, but on the 2003 it adds 2 tweeters in the front door pillars (1 in each door). How is Regina? I've been meaning to go visit there.

Is it possible?The enclosure and sub for the older model Vibes is available for sale through GM online, and probably at the dealership too. That is one way to go if you want it stock looking and to not take up any trunk space.

If I were to buy a Infinity Basslink (amp/subwoofer) How would I install it to my factory stereo? any clue?

No, I'm not exactly sure, but if you find out let me know. I've been wanting a sub for my vibe and that doesn't look like it would take up too much space (I was originally looking into getting a single 10" L5 kicker).

The Base radio can be upgraded to the GT Base Radio and also add the Premium Pkg, the GT upgrade can only add the Premium Pkg to upgrade... make sense? Oh BTW - the USB dock you noted above in error is available in the HHR - it's a USB plug in the radio to plug your memory stick into if you have MP3's on it,, shame you can get it on the Vibe smart idea only on the HHR currently...

If you're looking at the Basslink, there won't be a sub specific output on your stock HU, so you'd be stuck splicing the front or rear channels to hook it up which will sound not so good. It hooks up the same as any other amp/sub would (RCA or speaker wire/12v/ground/remote), except it's all in the same enclosure.For the best case scenario with the basslink, you'd need an HU with a sub out (preferably RCA).Also, try to find a shop that sells those and have a listen before ordering one. I almost got the Basslink from Crutchfield until I was down in Minot and heard one at Best Buy. I wasn't impressed for the price. I opted for a 10" sub in a narrow truck box, mounted the amp to the box and it hits harder than the basslink and takes up less space.As for Regina - I had to cut my holidays short to get back home before that snowstorm and miss out on Turkey Dinner

The Basslink has BOTH RCA inputs and speaker level inputs... This makes it so if you have a stock HU, you can use the speaker level inputs to drive it... If you have an aftermarket HU, the RCA inputs is what you would want to use... I agree, going th RCA route would be best, but the speaker level inputs will work fine as well...

Can you explain what you mean by speaker level input? Do you mean that I can run some parallel line to my rear speaker and connect it to the basslink??

Common does not equal good. I've seen it done by DIY audio guys. But you're correct in thinking the audio quality will suffer.

(no offence) add to that the frequency range that the BL would be playing and well, it will work fine... The speaker level inputs are basically a LOC or a Line Output Coverter, which in essence converts from hi-level or speaker level, down to low-level or RCA level signal strength... RCA level is the proper way to go, yes, but speaker level can do just as well, for what you are doing..
