What does everyone think of a possible merger of GM with Chrysler or Ford?

Makes me want to vomit. GM merging with either of those would just be too "out there", IMHO.

It is a matter of time before someone merges with someone.Just a quick tid-bit; if you are going to vomit make sure to turn to the side to decrease the risk of aspiration.

Chrysler is like a bad penny that keeps showing up. GM has nothing to gain except a proven mini-van line. Chrysler is going out of business very soon; leave it alone. But, as I found out by battling with GM myself over these past 3 months, GM's North American Division can't make a good decision if there was one to choose from. They'll make the wrong one again, pick up Chrysler, and go out of business themselves. Won't it be interesting.....in a few short years there will be only two American car companies left: Toyota and Honda.

GM still has SAAB (import) and did have a stake in Subaru (lets see how quick all the Sue-bahhh-rooo owners show up now since it was mentioned) at one time...World Economy is going down it seems.

Only thing GM may want is maybe getting the Jeep division.

If this merger occurs (currently talks have stopped till after the elections) it's out of necessity not because either side want it to happen..
