Any damage the place did they will need to fix or replace. Good move by contacting the insurance company. Do not take your car in to that place, wait for the insurance to handle it. State to the insurance company that they damaged your vehicle once already, it is going somewhere else.Sorry to see what happened.

Thanks. I already emailed my claims guy AND the detail guy pics. I decided to get it out to them ASAP...that way the guy can't claim it happened later during the week. I was SO happy all day because I was getting her back, mold-free. (It now smells kind of like dog shampoo) and then to find the scratches I am just upset. You trust your car will be taken care of when you go to a 'professional', you know? It may not be one of the Escalade, Hummer, or some other pricey car, but I take care of it, it's paid for, I'm keeping it for many years, and I love it.

(removed)? Did you take it to Marquis De Sade Auto Body? "Have you been in an accident? We'll whip your car back into shape."

Sorry to see all that damage. It's just some one being totally careless. This happens too often. They should replace all the scratched up panels. But don't let them do it! Don't let them near your car again.

Argghh... sorry to see all that damage! That's just brutal! I've been slightly careless and dragged a vacuum hose across a panel, but it didn't leave any marks...

SO...........this morning I get in the car to leave for work. I see something under the paper floor mat they left on the floor. What do I see hiding under it, just lying there? This part. I pick it up, look at it, and it's broken. I'm royally P.O'd now. Did they think it was ok to just break a part, leave it and try to hide it? Did they think I wouldn't find out? (Because, you know, what do I know. I'm 'just a silly little girl'?) or because it's not one of the fancy cars they put on their flyers, it's OK? Sent these pics to my insurance and this moron. I don't think it was a steel brush. I think it was monkeys with crowbars. I lifted up my dashcover, lo and behold, there's gouges there too. KUSO, is right ramenboy...I'm going to demand I get a dealer receipt for that part they're going to pay for, not one from a junkyard. Or I'm going to ActionLine (local news feature that shows people getting screwed/ripped off, etc.)

Yes, I know. Apparently, that is NOT in the company's mission statement. (Do they even have one? Maybe they do. It goes something like this: "Bring it in, and we will make it look like it NEVER did before!")I guess the monkeys with the crowbars couldn't read what was on the paper floor mat.

I feel bad for ya Hapa Girl... You should not have to go through this at all. It is very stressful and emotionally draining. I for one would not talk to the shop, only talk to the insurance company, and go to the shop with a field agent at the same time - then this way you have a witness to what was said and what transpired. Keep your head high, the insurance company is on your side so that is the silver lining.

Oh yes, thank you. I just got a call from my Allstate guy saying he was going to call this (bleep) and tell him he got pics of my car all apart without scratches, plus the pics he took at the initial claim appointment without scratches. I told him that bleep was raising his voice at me, denying they did it and saying "THE CAR IS ALMOST 3 YEARS OLD!" I told him doesn't matter. I take care of it. I said let's me and him both take lie detector tests. BRING IT ON. And get this, creep tried to say "someone else" worked on it. I said NO. I've never had trouble. No repairs, carpet or seats has never been out. UPDATE: My agent just called me to inform me that he was very nice to the guy but the guy has an 'abrasive' personality and knows what I'm going through because he ended up in a pXing match with him. The creep has tried to call me from two different numbers-his shop, and his cel. I'm too afraid to answer and just going to let my agent handle the beast from now on.Looks like it's war, but bring it on.

My claims agent said he got an apology from the guy who said he "had another bad customer". ((removed)?! That makes ME a bad customer?) and he asked my agent why HE'S calling instead of me. "Because you're abusive, and she's scared of you. You can't treat customers like that. Put yourself in their shoes." Guy: "well, that's how we do things in New York." Agent: "well, that's not how we do things here". My Allstate claims guy, my hero

Oh yeah, I was definetely thinking the same thing...I could do a much better job doing it myself (I helped rebuild a '66 389 Ventura engine years ago, also did my own maintenance when I lived at home, so not afraid to get dirty.) I was wondering why sight-impaired simians used crowbars on this car.I had a little time this morning before work...got a good pic of the gouges on the dash. I'm not stupid. There's only one way this could've happened-Einsteins tried to remove the (silver trim) off the dash. (My agent said they had the dash off) EDIT: Forgot to mention in earlier threads that the (beep) claimed that "clips were missing" from the carpet, so that means the car has been "apart before" So I'm thinking is he lying about this too, or did the Cro-Magnons lose some of my parts? I looked over the paint really good this morning, and that seems to have been spared (by some miracle) except some scrapage of paint inside the door. I can always touch that up, but the plastic I can't...

Thanks...I have to take it to my claims agent tomorrow morning for him to take their own pics to document it all. Then I have to take it to show (bleep) I already know what he's going to say-what he's been saying since Wed. evening. Then Allstate & I will just have to take his hide to court, because I'm NOT letting him get away with this.

How awful! Tell this guy to go back to NY (he probably got chased out of there). Damage like that is definitely not accidental. They did it in the disassembly.I'm sorry to see this damage. Hope you get this straightened out soon. I hope allstate doesn't do you like they did me back in the 90's. I had an accident in a previous car (94 Saturn SL2) and was insured through Allstate. I ran a stop sign at night. The intersection was unlit and the stop sign was partially covered by tree branches so I didn't see it and went into the intersection and got t-boned. Allstate did not give me any grief. I got the car repaired and Allstated paid everything except my deductable. Great I thought. As soon as the current policy expired, they would not renew. I did notice not long after the accident, that the intersection gained a new street light and the tree had been pruned so the stop sign was clearly visible.I think I missed where your car got moldy. Did it get caught in a flood? However this works out, I would let your insurance agent do all the talking to the shop that did the damage.Vance

debthat's cool. your letter says everything it should be saying. too bad you don't know other ex-customers who could add testimonials. anyways, with that letter, and the pics and your kicka$$ claims guy, this body shop's story will unravel like a cheap espadrille.
