Out with the Vibe, in with the Matrix

Post by SinisterMind »

The Vibe is gone and picked up Sundace Metallic '09 Matrix AWD. It's almost fully loaded. It has the mid grade stereo with 6disc changer. This car improved on pretty much every weekness of the original. The only thing they screwed up on is by creating more blind spots. The A and C pillars are thick. After driving it and sticking to speed limit (no more than 65mph) the mixed driving so far is on track to beating EPA estimates. The 2.4 doesn't require much throttle to maintain speed and accelerate. The 1.8 had to be pushed. So far I love the car. I got the car at invoice and they gave me 400 dollars under KBB for the Vibe.

With the new engine my wife changed her driving habits, since she doesn't have to nail the accelerator anymore. The fuel economy is beating the old car even with only 250miles on the odo. Loving this car.

I live in a hilly area and never had to "nail" it to go but that was when I was driving to get good mileage. Maybe its just the feeling of cable -> electric TB? did you go from fwd to awd?Anyway congrats and where are the pics! hahha

Maybe its just the feeling of cable -> electric TB? did you go from fwd to awd? There is an considerable difference in pick up and go from the 1.8 to the 2.4 litre engine. If a driver is use to a much quicker response, then I could see the reasoning.
