So how hard is it to install for a person that doesn't normally work on cars? On a scale from 1 - 10, 10 being the hardest. Oh, and its Cosmo.

5most of the difficulty would be in removing the stock air box and its componants.

I think I could handle that. The lid to my stock airbox came off a little bit, and it made my car sound beastly. And I liked it. So I thought a new intake would be awesome. =p p.s. I put the lid back on of course.

i just put one on my dads trix.. i would say about a 3... took about 30mins.. just remember to disconnect the battery and BE VERY CAREFULL of the MAF sensor.all you need is a 10mm socket and a philpshead screwdriver

I rate it a 3 as well (for a new modder). the thing with intakes is that they tend to be a gateway drug for modding.

I did the Cosmo CAI, actually my kid did it, and I've give that a 15 on the 10 scale, mostly cuz of how the filter is tight to get in so the Short Ram gotta be much much easier.

Thanks for the offer, I might take it when I order it, but that wont be any time soon. I decided against the CAI. Any pictures of the SRI installed?

Installing a short ram could not be any easier. I have intalled a short ram, cai, and now a short ram again. I have installed everything on my car and the intake is by far the easiest thing yet. you should have no problems. As with most mods, some tugging and cursing will be involved, but thats part of the fun. I'd give it a 2 out of 10. You'll love the sound!

(removed) a sledge hammer is not a necessity.

LOL that's my stock intake for you! We pulled it out, discovered staples and some wierd heat resistant fabric (probably ceramic) on the inside! Then we took out the ol' sledgehammer.... And POOF! K+N SRI ladies and gentlemen!
