Hey everyone I have a 2003 fwd vibe and I am about to replace my intake filter with a bigger one. Thing is, I will need to find a different location to put my fusebox. Is this even possible? And if so, where should it go?

what are you talking about by replacing your filter with a bigger one? Get a CAI, no relocation of the fuse box necessary!

I don't know why you'd want to move it.Get a CAI or SRI with a good filter and call it done.Bigger isn't always better.

I'm assuming you are using a short ram. I would just cut the short ram pipe down so it will fit. Pics would be nice of this monster filter.

Lol I will put a pic up later, with a pic of my destroyed, blackened, battered old filter lol. The bigger filter was a short ram filter for my exact same intake, but meant for a celica. It is about an inch bigger than my current filter, and since I have a throttle body spacer, there is no room for a bigger filter unless i cut the piping or move the fusebox. And since winter is coming up, i dont quite want a CAI....yet. My current filter is actually barely touching the fusebox, so i literally have NO room for the new one unless an adjustment is made.I'd rather steer clear of making a cut, since i neither have the tools or the experience to do so. A safer option would be to try and find another location for my fusebox.Such a tiny project lol, yet so confusing

I can't imagine any circumstances where it would be worth relocating the fuse box to put a bigger air filter in. You'd be better off going back to stock on the intake. Just buy a filter like the one you wasted.

thats actually not a bad idea. I could try cutting the filter down. I'll give it a whirl lol

I didn't even have to cut anything with my CAI. The filter sits kinda tight against the fog light, but it doesn't harm anything.

I dont have a CAI. I have a K+N short ram (the problem is the spacer, really). I just cut down the filter exactly 1 inch, and its still just tight enough that it won't completely fit on the tubing, so tomorrow i'm going over to my buddies house and we're cutting down the tubing an extra half inch. Should be fun!
