manually turning off headlamps at night

Hello,I have a 2007 Vibe and wonder how I can manually turn off my headlamps with the engine running. My problem is that I have to take a car ferry home at night. The operator of the ferry wants the headlamps off while driving on and off the ferry so the crew does not loose their night vison. One can get a ticket for this if this rule was enforced. Any ideas?Thank you,Ojibway Princess

only way to do that is to disable your Auto light feature. you can cut pin 12 on the DRL module. In doing so you will lose your auto lights and your DRL lights.Wire in a switch to that wire and then you can turn on and off the auto light feature at your leasure and the drls as well

Considering the fact that all GM cars for the past several years have these automatic headlights I doubt that this "law" would or could be enforced.I suppose one could tape some blinders on the headlights while waiting in line to drive on.

or simply wire in a switch and a flick of the finger can turn them on and off with ease... instead of getting out of the car and taping the headlights or covering them up with somethingdo a search for drl mod. it's stickied in the do-it yourself threads

I know my 6 does, and I was under the impression many models did for several years back.
