Anyone else have one? Pretty nice 'toy' but way more than I need from a phone.I will keep it for a while longer (have 30 days) and if I don't use most of the features I will probably go back to my plain old phone.

It is a lot more than a phone...I have been thinking about getting a Dare myself, but not sure about it since it does so much stuff that I never think I would use. I messed around with one that a buddy has and it definitely does have the "wow" factor... just not sure that is worth it to make me buy it.Guess we will wait and see what you think about it in a couple weeks.

I am the same way. I came from a phone that was...well...a phone. Didn't even have text msging turned on.Now I have this 'toy' and am asking myself....why? Is it worth the extra $$ each month?Things it does that I like;Web browser - works well and many sites are optimized for the I-phone so they look just as nice on the dare.Instant messaging - yahoo and AIM so I am set on both.Calendar, calculator, tip calculator, drawing pad, alarm clock, stop watch.Mobil e-mail - I can check all my pop accounts..MP3 player - has some issues they need to work out but sounds great.Movie player - has some issues but looks great.Favorite contacts - you can put them into a screen hot coded to a dedicated screen button. Associate pictures and tunes with them. Tap one, select text, e-mail, or phone and off you go.Via 3rd party software it syncs contact and calendar info with outlook.Mine has an 8gig flash card inside accessible via bluetooth or usb cable. So far my favorite part is VZ navigator. Fully functional GPS/Tom tom thing combined. Shows traffic conditions, weather, speed...when you put in a destination it talks you through it.I really like the little thing but still beating myself up over whether it was worth the money and if I am worth all the stuff it does when all I really need is a way to make and receive calls.Time will tell.......

the dare is a pretty suweet phone. my provider only carries the first generation (part touch, slider phone). but i really like the second gen one you have.i looked at one on friday and really talked myself out of it (for now) because of the same reasons you talked about.my motorola slvr that i have now has an mp3 player, but because i've got my ipod, i don't use that feature at all
