Hello,The stock GY Eagles on my 2007 vibe are almost finished. I need some advice about what tires I should put on. I have a basic 2007 model Vibe, no mods, no bells or whistles. I just want something with good treadlife, is somewhat quiet on the road, maybe a decent warranty, and isn't ridiculously expensive. I mostly drive to get good mpg, but like to rip around turns every now and then.Any help would be great. I don't even know what brands to be looking at. Cheers.

If it were later in the game, I'd tell you to go with what I got. I'm extremely happy with them, but I'm not far enough into em yet to know for sure. I know several people who are happy with the Yoko's though.I have Yokohama Avid VS4s and they are a LOT nicer than the Falken Ziex 512's I had...noticeable difference with the Yokohama's over the first 1,000 miles compared to the first 1,000 of the Falkens.

personally i would go for the fuzion hri's from tirerack.com have them on two cars and they are awesome.

djb383, when you say to get 225/50/16, isn't that larger than the stock tires i have on. mind you, i know nothing about tire sizes. absolutely clueless... the 225 is just a wider tire, right? and will it fit on the stock rims?

Fuzion's are an off-brand (very little mark up on cost) tire made by Bridgestone which are almost identical to Bridgestone Potenzas. Very good tire for the money, I think they are roughly $96 per tire.

Yes, the 225/50/16 is about 3/4" wider and virtually identical in diameter to the stock 205 therefore it will not effect the speedometer or the odometer or place additional load on the engine/tranny like a taller tire will. Superb traction and with the 225 width, it's like having an extra 3" more rubber on the road vs the stock 205 width.

what's everyone's opinion about 225/50/16 Fuzion HRi tires on a 2007 base vibe. Good or bad idea?

i recently within in the last 2 weeks needed to replace my stock oem BF Goodrich Potenzas on my 05 GT and went with a tire brand Nexen and chose their 5000 series tires.............60000 mile rating and at a cost that blows most tires of that mileage away. $290 shipped from california...........for 4 tires, how can you beat that!

I've done lots of research and it appears the Bridgestone Turarza Serenity would be a good value...tirerack had some good reports about people switching from Michelin to Bridgestone TS.Price seems to be in line w/Michelin 125 to 140 range

I have about 4500 miles on a full set of Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S. They handle very well and are very quiet. However, they do require a break in period of about 750 miles.

My first set of tires on my '04 Vibe were Goodyear RSAs. Since replacing those in 2005 I've been riding on TripleTreds. Just bought my 4th set of them this past weekend. Now it's not because they suck, but because I basically have to buy tires annually due to the miles I rack up...currently 321,000+ on my '04.In a nutshell...Goodyear TripleTreds.*****On another note, I've been running stock size and rims (P205/55 R16) since day one. I was talking to the guy at Discount Tire about upgrading to P215/55s or P225/50s for the benefit of the bigger footprint. (Those sizes are recommended on the Discount Tire website.) Even though they fit, he did not recommend upgrading on the stock rims because the sides of the tires, though minimal, will bulge out which in turn can cause uneven tread wear.

I don't know how they'd perform on the Vibe, but I put 30,000 miles on a set of BFG Traction T/As on my Regal, and they were quite nice. They gripped very well, performed fine in rain (no show in California), and wore fairly well (though a bit faster than I would have liked). The Regal came stock with Goodyear Eagle LSs, and they were horrible. Low grip, howled when cornering, and unpredictable in the rain. The only good thing about them is that they wore for a long time (I put almost 50k on them).
