I range about 20 in the city to 32.3 on the highway with max A/C. I drive over 70 on the highway. A good place to look for fuel economy and track your own is

I'm hoping mine gets better. Only filled for the 2nd time today. The first tank got me nearly 28mpg and this tank was 23. There was more stop and go driving with this 2nd tank though.

I don't drive on the freeway that much. On average, I drive less than 5 miles a day.Quote, originally posted by lowincash »how many miles do you drive on the fwy each day? i am hoping i will get mileage in the 30's since i do 25-26 miles on hwy to and from work each day.

Low 30's with mine. I would NEVER do 70 mph.... that would be against the law.

I have done 30-31 mpg with the air on at 60-62 mph. On a 360 mile round trip got 35-36 mpg driving 55-65 mph with no air on. My Vibe is 5 months old, 3100 miles.

Yes, it is a GT. The 35-36 mpg has to be a fluke but it was round trip back to the same gas pump we left from.

Low for me was 24, high was 29, last few fillups have been consistently 26-27 with 70/30 City/Highway, (about 1400 miles on the car). About the same I got with the 2003 AWD 1.8, which is what I had expected.

Would a 2.4l manual get the same milage as a manual GT?

"Would a 2.4l manual get the same milage as a manual GT?"no not necessarily. The GT is slightly heavier, and has larger tires with heavier 18" rims. So there may be a very slight 1mpg difference.if you care about gas mileage get the 1.8L manual

I don't have the GT, but I hae the 2.4 engine. If I had known the mileage would be this poor I would not have bought this car. Very dissappointed. Its rated at 29 mpg and I get 20 mpg (city).

Sorry, I'm in Canada and I got mixed up with US gallons and Imperial gallons. You're right its rated at 21 mpg (US gallon). However, I still think it is low.

It depends on your driving, the gas you use, etc. Don't use Citgo or Gulf.. that fuel is not as good as Exxon, Mobil, or Shell. I only use Exxon, Mobil or Shell now. I filled up with Citgo gas twice. Both times I got @ 55miles less per tankful. Exxon, Mobil, or Shell. I usually get 352 miles per tank. When I fill the tank It I usually need to buy 10.8gallons (not totally empty). That's 32.5mpg, not bad. That's a mix of highway and back roads. 48mph on 38 miles of backroads backroads and 85mph on an 11 mile stretch of highway. Be sure to use a good brand of 87 Octane. It makes a big difference.

Chevron gas.I get 32 with a mix of 25% town, 75% highway. One tank I got 36, but I lightfooted just to see what would happen.

Well, my mileage is not getting better yet. It's got a little over 2k miles on it. Sunday I filled up after mixed driving and got 26mpg. Filled up later that afternoon after ALL interstate driving @ 80mph and got 26mpg. I REALLY hope that it gets better with some break-in. I was hoping for a minimum of 30mpg when I bought this car.

Same day. Topped off (10 gallons) and left for vacation. With the gas situation I filled up when I hit 1/4 tank. Again near 10 gallons.
