Nice! Nothin' runs like a Deere. How big is the deck on it?When I was a kid, I used to mow grass for a neighbor that had a lawn service, that's the only lawn tractor he'd buy. I was jealous, it was much nicer than the cheaper mowers that was all my family could afford. lol!

The LA, is that the version that Lowes sells, cause Home Depots are typically the G-series. They are all pretty much the same just modeled differently for resale.

thanks every one. you really show your age when your happy with a lawn mower and not think "man that money could have got new rims or $ down on a supercharger......" Quote, originally posted by ou.grizzly » What size is the deck and is it a hydrostatic?42" deck. if hydrostatic means no shifting and a gas pedal that works on the same order as a car. yes 1st time for me, its pretty nice.

Yeah, that would be hydrostatic and are wonderful! Deere has an array of accessories for that thing, you should check out their website.

I would love to have one of those, my yard is too small to justify owning a tractor. A neighbor with a similar size yard bought a Cub Cadet last year. He couldn't fit it through the gate to his backyard, it went back to Home Depot.

Currently have a Cub Cadet 2554 Model, as it is a nice machine, there has been issues with the anti-scalping wheels coming off and the the pins for the height adjustment fall out causing one of the front caster wheels to hit against the deck. I ended up twisting the metal and breaking a weld about 10 days ago. Took the part in to our local dealer and they warrantied the part for us, this is not to mention the entire mower was replaced due to the fact the deck kept falling off. The replacement's steering rod broke on the 2nd use, found out there was a nut missing from the factory. For anyone who is looking to purchase a Garden Tractor, the best new brands out there are Deere, Simplicity, and Kubota. If you are buying used, Simplicity (owned by Briggs and Stratton + Snapper) , Deere, Wheel Horse (bought by Toro which then bought Exmark), and Cub Cadets. Scherry2 definitely received quality tractor for his birthday.

I have a little over 1.50 Acre's and I also do the neighbors on both sides of me (80 somethings) and 1 has an Acre and a 1/2 and the other less than a full Acre. I have a 10 year old yard machine 12 hp 32 in cut and pardon the pun but it doesn't cut it.....
