I believe my A/C is making my carpet wet

Hello, forum. In February I purchased a 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT with under 30,000 miles on it. I was pretty satisfied. Before the winter was over my climate control knob broke (it made a snap sound and now spins freely, I plan to fix this before winter comes around). Outside of that I have bought new tires (Firestone Firehawk GT, I like them very much) and took it in for the window recall (window still pops slightly if I roll it up or down with the door open). The clutch is still very grabby at 35k miles and I actually wonder if its already been replaced or if I just got lucky. But the one issue that I've started noticing now that its gotten warmer is the carpet seems to get wet in the passenger footwell when I run the A/C. This was particularly noticable when I drove to Minneapolis and found the carpet literally soaked. Has anybody else had this problem and does anybody know the solution?Cheers.-Poseidon.

Probably the drain hose is blocked or disconnected. It should drip water on the ground under the car near the back of the right front wheel well, if not, that's your problem.

Read this thread here and check the AC drain hose in the pics. Most of the time this is the issue. You can use a plastic zip tie to secure it too.

about that carpet issue, it's an easy fix, as I just had mine done. There is a condinser tube up under the top left side of the carpet on the drivers side that is rubber. It connects to a metal tube that goes through the floor board and drains outside of the car. Sometimes it gets a kink in it as was the case with mine, I thought the 3" of water I got in the front passanger floor board and in the passenger rear floorboard was from condensation from it being hot that day, so I took it into my toyota dealer and he fixed it for free, Just pull bacl the carpet in the upper top left of the passenger floor board and you will find the problem, pull it off, blow through it and put it back on and that will fix it. Then find a good vac and suck out your floorboards, then leave the windows down for a few days in the hot sun and let it dry out. Good Luck, oh buy the way, Have fun with yout GT!!! I Love mine.
