Rattle/Rubbing Sound

I've had my Vibe in 3 times to fix an annoying sound coming from the driver's side. It's an annoying "clicking" sound that happens on subtle bumps. It doesn't happen on big bumps (all the time) mostly seams in the road or small bumps. I was told it was from the plastic dash and the cold. I've owned a Sunfire AND a Cavalier. Both have plastic dashes and no noise. Each time I took it in they "fixed" it. They promised me they test drove it to be sure it wasn't happenning anymore. Bull. I'm waiting until the warmer weather to see if it's a winter thing. It was 70degrees here today and guess what?? It still does it. ANYONE ELSE GOT THIS ANNOYING PROBLEM?

Are you referring to the area of the dash where the gauge pods are located (speedometer, tach, etc.)? To quickly isolate this area, when the noise is present, put some pressure on the gauge pods (silver rings) and see if the noise stops or diminishes. If so, here is a solution to that particular problem in this thread:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=396There is also some buzzing/rattling noises known to come from the very front defrost vent on the dash near the window. Check out this thread:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... id=3505And also a lesser known noise from the driver's side A-Pillar:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1560

I have a similar problem. The rubbing sound comes from the chrome bezels around the gauges. If you apply pressure to chrome piece the noise goes away.I haven't had anyone look at it yet. Glad to see I am not the only one with this problem, thought I was crazy.

Thanks for the quick reply by the way. The sound seems to eminate from the driver's side near the front beam. That's the general location. I've tried pressing down on the chrome accents as was suggested by others but no success. Imagine, I can hear the crackling over the radio at medium volume levels! Again, I was told at the dealership that it's because of the cold. That doesn't jive with me though.
