packing slip from Dell is equivalent to an invoice for proof of purchase or warranty claim?

I see advertised a GPS device which was originally bought through Dell.ca in the past month. The individual seller has the packing slip as proof of purchase. He claims that this slip will be enough to allow for any future warranty claims. Is this true?

Call Dell. Warranty might also be limited to original purchaser.

Is this true?i've ordered a crap load of stuff off dell.ca --- the packing slip is usually enough BUT dell does mail out an invoice a couple weeks after your order arrives. You may want to ask if they have that. I don't have one with me, but the packing slip usually has the order number listed on it.Quote, originally posted by jake75 »Call Dell. As far as I know the warranty is per item, usually 90 days, then the manufacturers warranty kicks in -- call them to double check

The invoice is available on the website. The seller can access his account and print it for you. Not sure if coverage is transferrable.
