Word to the wise on the 2009 gauge cluster. It's a pain in the hind end to clean. So, today, I decided since the dealer effed it up greatly that I was going to pull off the template for the gauges and try and polish it. Just know... this part is extremely delicate. I managed in just gently pulling on it to break just about every tab on the cluster. No clue how. If you're not experienced, find someone to help you or you'll do as I did.Also, Whelan, if you stop in this subject and can offer some wisdom, I'd be happy. Seems like the dealer used an oil/wax based product on the clusters, and it's got armor all spotting now (small in the corner just around the gauge line), I'm guessing there's no good way to remove this as my old car had it and no matter what I tried I couldn't get it off. But, I tried plastix and it seemed to leave a haze behind. (I'm not having good luck with the things I'm trying as of late). Any ideas would be appreciated.

Well, you can get a bucket of dawn, water, and a wash cloth. You can try to scrub off the spots, that should help a little bit. Then you can get megs #40 and wipe down the whole console giving it a nice shine.

Let's see. Are you referring to the dash part or the actualy clear plastic. I am assuming since you mentioned PlastX that you are talking of the clear plastic. Easiest way to get the schmeg or Armor All rainbow effect (looks like a gasoline puddle to me), you could remove the cluster cover, wipe it down with a damp soapy rag than dry it completely. Then use the PlastX. If it is not too hazy or scratched, pick yourelf up some Plexus. You can get it at any marine store or most online detailing sites. It is amazing stuff for a quick clean and wipe down. Apply to the rag, then rub in like polish and remove the same using a micro, no paper towels.
