2009 Gauge Cluster/where's whelan!

Word to the wise on the 2009 gauge cluster. It's a pain in the hind end to clean. So, today, I decided since the dealer effed it up greatly that I was going to pull off the template for the gauges and try and polish it. Just know... this part is extremely delicate. I managed in just gently pulling on it to break just about every tab on the cluster. No clue how. If you're not experienced, find someone to help you or you'll do as I did. Also, Whelan, if you stop in this subject and can offer some wisdom, I'd be happy. Seems like the dealer used an oil/wax based product on the clusters, and it's got armor all spotting now (small in the corner just around the gauge line), I'm guessing there's no good way to remove this as my old car had it and no matter what I tried I couldn't get it off. But, I tried plastix and it seemed to leave a haze behind. (I'm not having good luck with the things I'm trying as of late). Any ideas would be appreciated.
