Heel guard?

I've noticed a nice worn spot developing where my heel pivots on the floor mat, and I've also seen it in many genviber's photos. Well, I'm trying to prevent it from getting worse. I've temporarily put one of those dashboard sticky things there as a heel rest, but it looks like a horse's (removed). I'm thinking maybe a thin black carpet sample? Any input or ingenious ideas? Or should I just start putting money in the piggy bank to buy a replacement floor mat in a few years...

Yeah, I've seen some carpet remnants sold in like dollar stores. But maybe you could ask some carpet installing companies if they have old swatches or scraps they want to throw out.

Rubber mats FTW!Mine started showing wear, I replaced them with rubber vibe mats, and found that I even like them in the summer.

+1 for rubber! I'm waiting for mine to wear out so I can buy a set.

Stumbled upon this while looking for all-season mats.Lloyd's mats custom fabs thier mats to match the OEM fit, and they also do a clear vinyl protector floor mats. Price seems decent, $46 for a set of four. No affiliation, just found while browsing. Link:

I picked up the Weathertech All Weather mats for my Vibe after I wore a hole in the fabric mats.
